I have to thank my good friend Jerry Beck of Beck’s Entertainment for introducing me to Ryan & Joy months ago and giving me the opportunity to DJ/MC their wedding. I could tell from the very beginning that this was going to be a night to remember and my expectations were exceeded greatly! The Reception was held at the Hilton Mission Valley and Joy’s sister-in-law Kelly Cruz was the coordinator for the event. The night was flawless and the highlight of the evening was Ryan’s special dance with his Groomsmen for his new wife. I posted the video below in its entirety as well as a highlight video from the wedding. I couldn’t have asked for a nicer couple to work with and more energetic guests to play for. Congratulations, Ryan & Joy!

I was given the pleasure of working with my good friend Dawn Eastman of A Blissful Event for Kenric and Beth’s Wedding at the Admiral Baker Clubhouse. I provided Cocktail Hour music for the guests and from the moment the bridal party entered, it was definitely party time. They entered to instrumentals made famous by Dr. Dre and the rowdy  crowd was up on their feet the entire time. Kenric and Beth came in and shared their first dance to Stevie Wonder’s “You Are The Sunshine Of My Life.” After dinner, toasts and the father/daughter dance, it was time to party. The entire Reception was so much fun and the only drawback to it was that we all wish we had more time. I want to thank Dawn for coordinating yet another flawless wedding and I can’t wait to work with you again. Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Aban! 🙂

I wanted to personally thank James and Vanessa Lodge for a great night and letting me be a part of their special day. I hope you enjoy the highlight video below that we put together in honor of their special day. Cheers! – DJ Dev

I hopped in the Delorean and took a trip back to the 1980’s for Julie’s Awesome 80’s Party! The celebration was held at a private residence in La Costa and this was Julie’s belated Sweet 16 Birthday Party. The backyard was decked out with classic movie posters, a video game station and other classic 80’s nostalgia. Julie and her friends danced the night away to some of the best of Hair Bands, Synth Pop, Glam Rock and 80’s Pop Royalty. My good friend Cynthia Zatkins passed my info on to Julie and was actually in attendance at this rockin party. I had so much fun hanging out and reminiscing on the decade of decadence with Julie and her friends. Julie feel free to give me a call when you decide to have your belated 21st birthday party…90’s maybe? 😉

I met Danny Kazmarek and Katie Ehrlich back in February after they saw us at the San Diego Bridal Bazaar in January 2011. I was immediately put at ease by their laid back personalities and especially by Danny’s sense of humor. I was also excited that they wanted to book J. Soul Productions for two events…part one and part two of their wedding. Part One took place this past Saturday, September 10th at the ZLAC Rowing Club. I was excited to return to this venue because of how much fun I had there last Summer for Shamrun & Carly’s Wedding and a week later for Steve & Akiko’s Wedding. I was also excited to work for the first time with Alicia Thorne of CZ Events, making this my second time in a month that I’ve worked with CZ Events. After Ceremony concluded, the guests took a group photo and then proceeded to the patio to socialize to the sounds of John Legend, one of Katie’s favorite artists, and other Neo-Soul R&B artists. Katie’s father Peter gave a welcome followed by a toast from the Best Man Brigg, and the guests were then seated shortly thereafter. After dinner, Mr. & Mrs. Kazmarek took to the floor for their first dance to “Steady As We Go” by the Dave Matthews Band followed by Katie and her father dancing to “Daddy’s Little Girl” by Al Martino and Danny & his mom dancing to “Because You Loved Me” by Celine Dion. The dance floor then opened up and then we took a break for a special Anniversary Dance to “Remember When” by Alan Jackson and Cake Cutting to “I Got You, Babe” by Sonny & Cher. And then I reopened the dance floor playing Top 40, Electro, Hip-Hop, Throwbacks and some Classics. After playing the final song of the night, the guests asked for an encore so after clearing it with the Bride and Groom, I played one more song to give the guests a bit more dance time. They were then asked to head out near the Ceremony area for a sparkler send-off for Danny & Katie. Not only was it an amazing wedding, it was a great indication of how awesome their second celebration next month will be. Please enjoy the photos and special video that I put together for them below. I’m so lucky to have been a part of their special celebration and I can’t wait to party with them again in a little over a month! 🙂
