I had the pleasure of DJing the wedding of Jonny & Eleni Blair on Saturday, June 25th at Casa del Prado, Patio B in Balboa Park. What a beautiful day for a wedding and as their guests came in, you could tell they were all ready to party. Jonny and Eleni danced to “Just The Two Of Us” by Grover Washington & Bill Withers for their first dance. Later, Eleni danced with her father to a traditional Greek song followed by Jonny dancing with his mother for “Do You Realize” by The Flaming Lips. The newlyweds then invited up Eleni’s mom and Jonny’s dad to dance with them to “I’ll Be There” by the Jackson 5. Next up were toasts, money dance, bouquet and garter and cake cutting. Most of Eleni’s family was from Greece so a lot of Greek music was played throughout the reception. I also managed to get in a few oldies as well as some Merengue for Jonny’s mom. It was a beautiful wedding on a beautiful evening with a beautiful couple. Congratulations, Jonny and Eleni and thank you for letting me be a part of your special day! 🙂

You are a great DJ and you made this event very special for my son. Thank you for being part of this special day for our family. Everyone loved the atmosphere which was set by your skill in the music. God bless.

The staff at J. Soul Productions had the honor of exhibiting at our very first Bridal Bazaar at the San Diego Convention Center this past Sunday. Our booth was located near the stage where the fashion show was being held throughout the day and our booth was staffed by Owners/DJs J. Soul and Matt Kriegsfeld and DJ/MC/Dancers DJ Dev and Chris Tyre. The booth showcased footage of past wedding celebrations we’ve been a part of on a 42″ plasma screen, our back curtain was up-lit with baby blue LED ambient up lighting and J. Soul was mixing live music and videos for the guests of the event. DJ Dev and Chris not only talked to hundreds of brides and grooms about what J. Soul Productions could do to enhance their special day, but they SHOWED them what sets us apart from other DJ companies. The guests as well as the other vendors near us enjoyed watching DJ Dev and Chris entertain them with their electric personalities and amazing dance skills (see video below). The event was a screaming success full of fun, energy and interactivity which is the J. Soul Productions trademark!

I met Danielle Williams back in early July at her step mother Wendy’s beautiful home to discuss the details of their wedding. In the 30 minutes or so that we spent chit chatting, I felt so comfortable and at home there and I felt like I had known their family for years. I couldn’t wait to start preparing for Danielle’s wedding to Brandon and when the day finally came, it was well worth the wait. The wedding was held at Willow Creek, a beautiful outdoor venue tucked away in the woods of Valley Center. The decor that Danielle and Brandon chose was gorgeous using a lot of earth tones and Fall-like colors and the photographer (Craig Harris of Fusion Art Studios) and I took the opportunity to capture some great photos…

The ceremony was held on the lawn across from the reception site and I got a chance to get a couple of shots of Brandon and his boys before they took their places for the ceremony…

The guests were seated and the bride began making her way down the aisle to meet her groom…

Once the ceremony concluded, the bride and groom took pictures while their guests enjoyed Cocktail Hour. Once the reception began, the bridal party was introduced followed by the newly-married couple who went to the middle of the dance floor for their first dance to “Can’t Help Falling In Love” by Ingrid Michaelson

After dinner, the Best Man Eric came up to give a toast followed by the Maid of Honor Lindsay and Bridesmaid Melissa

I then invited Danielle and her father Randy to the floor for their Daddy/Daughter Dance to a beautiful song that Randy had written and recorded for Danielle for this special day. Their dance was followed by Brandon’s dance with his mom to “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”

Later on the party kicked off with some oldies, current Top 40 and of course some reggae as requested by the bride and groom. I even led the “Cupid Shuffle” with a packed dance floor which everyone caught on to very quickly! I had a great time being a part of Brandon & Danielle Lee‘s special day and I want to thank them both for including me. I wish you both the best in all that life has to offer! 🙂

I originally met with Craig Barker and Kendra Donaldson back in May when I was in Las Vegas DJing my good friend’s wedding. I spent about an hour and a half at their house chit chatting about life with them and their daughters and after leaving, I knew that I had made an amazing connection with some amazing people. The day finally arrived this past Saturday when I had the honor of being the DJ/MC for their special day. It was held at Buster’s Beach House in Seaport Village for about 60 guests or so and Ingrid Fauteux and her staff did an amazing job setting up the decor for the evening…

Mr. & Mrs. Barker and their bridal party were introduced to the sounds of “I Gotta Feeling” by Black Eyed Peas and immediately went into their first dance “I Melt” by Rascal Flatts

After dinner, Kendra danced with her father to “I Loved Her First” by Heartland followed by Craig dancing with his mother to “Have I Told You Lately” by Rod Stewart

The Best Man and Maid of Honor then gave very emotional toasts and I then invited the entire bridal party on to the floor for their special dance to “Forever” by Chris Brown

The rest of the evening went off without a hitch and after bouquet toss, garter and cake cutting, Craig’s brother surprised Kendra and Craig with a special acoustic performance of “Me And You” by Kenny Chesney. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room…

This was one of the best weddings I’ve had the pleasure of being part of. The love in the room amongst the family and the guests was so amazing and I was fortunate to be a part of their memorable day. Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Barker and please keep me in mind when your girls decide to have their own weddings. I wish you both the best! 🙂

One of the reasons I love doing weddings is because each one is different and you never know what to expect from week to week. That statement greatly applies to the wedding I did this past Saturday at the Bahia Resort Hotel for Jeff Farmer and Olga Kutsanova. I met them a few weeks ago along with my brother from another mother, Jerry Beck of Beck’s Entertainment and their coordinator Amy Vargas of First Comes Love Weddings and Events. Jerry referred me for this wedding and upon meeting with them, I could tell that this was going to be a fun wedding. of

The ceremony was held on the beach right outside of the Del Mar room and it was a gorgeous set up on a gorgeous day…

Jeff and Olga even had a table set up with a guest book and rocks that guests were to write special messages to them on…

The ceremony was beautiful and while the bridal party was walking down the aisle, 12-year-old Yael Chanukov sang “At Last” by Etta James. I doubt the guests were expecting such a powerful voice to come out of a girl that young! The ceremony was quick and straight to the point, and as “Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman” by Bryan Adams played Jeff and Olga Farmer walked down the aisle to applause from their guests…

While the guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the patio outside of the Del Mar room, I took an opportunity to step inside and snap some quick photos of the decor inside of the room…

After dinner, toasts were given by the Best Man Craig Farmer, Man of Honor Igor Kutsanova and Mother of the Groom JoAnne. The last toast was given by Olga’s mother Sonya who, played “Hava Nagila” on the accordion as Jeff & Olga and a few family members danced around her. It was a perfect way to kick off the night. Right after the toasts, Jeff & Olga thanked their guests and family for coming…

Right after the toasts, it was time for their first dance to “The Way You Look Tonight” by Michael Buble

To kick off the dancing, Olga wanted to recreate the famous dance scene from Pulp Fiction by John Travolta and Uma Thurman to the tune of Chuck Berry’s “You Can Never Tell.” I then invited everyone onto the dance floor and it was party time from there on out…

The evening ended with the bride and groom and their guests boarding the Bahia Belle for a late-night cruise, but I was lucky enough to grab a picture with the pleased bride and groom before they sailed away. I had an amazing time being a part of Jeff & Olga Farmer’s special day and my thanks go out to them, Amy Vargas and Jerry Beck for a wonderful evening. Congratulations and Mazel Tov, Jeff & Olga!
